REVIEW: L'OCCITANE TERRE DE LUMIERE FRAGRANCE & BODY MILK

I was given a gift voucher for Mothers Day so promptly headed off to L'Occitane in Cavendish to spend it. I have a real love for this brand as I was fortunate enough to fly off to Corsica a few years back to experience first-hand the making of L'Occitane's Immortelle Divine anti-ageing products; from walking through fields of Immortelle flowers and seeing how each product is produced in the factory, to experiencing the incredible early morning light as we hot air ballooned across endless stretches of lavender; a truly memorable experience, shared with a handful of journalists from all over the world and definitely one of the many highlights of working for a magazine!

"In Provence, there is a unique moment in time, when the light embraces the sky and blesses the earth with a fleeting interval of grace. This is the Golden Hour," and where the inspiration for Terre de Lumière comes from. L'Occitane has stepped out of their previous chapters of concentrating on a single ingredient by focusing on the emotions at the heart of Provence. L'Occitane's first Gourmand Aromatic fragrance Terre de Lumiere EDP was created by three women perfumers: Calice Becker, Shyamala Maisondieu and Nadège Le Garlantezec, who share their love of Provence by using notes within the fragrance to capture their childhood memories.

The combination of almond, honey and lavender in both the body milk and fragrance are warming on the skin, heavenly light and fresh. The body milk sinks in easily leaving a slight shimmer on my skin and feels tres luxurious indeed! I bought the travel size Terre de Lumiere L'Occitane en Provence for Women EDP fragrance to complement the Beautifying Body Milk and as I'm travelling up country later in the month, thought them the perfect size to pop into my travel bag.

Top notes of honey and almonds combined with heart notes of lavender are warm and enveloping notes settling down into sensual balsamic and musky base notes; I absolutely love the lingering notes, subtle and perfect for winter days!

The bottle design is like a shape of a pebble with a tinge of golden, an ode to Provence light. L'Occitane founder OivierBaussan said, “Flairs of light inspired the elegant shape of the bottle. A pebble, coloured by the tinted golden hour skies, is represented in the cap.” How lovely is that!
