DUNHILL ICON RACING: FRAGRANCE REVIEW

My mind has been on Fathers Day gifts for the past few days wondering what to buy my dad. He's not a braai guy, yet he's not too shabby in the kitchen; ties are not his thing, yet he loves wearing hats. For years we bought him Old Spice fragrance for birthdays or Christmas, where he would smile and say how spoilt he was, (a gentle giant with a heart of gold, who would splash on the same scent every single day so as not to hurt his daughters feelings!) I've never asked if he tired of an endless supply of the same scent and soap on a rope year after year...oh, and ties..we bought loads of ties! Hopefully our home made cards made up for the lack of inspiring gifts we bestowed on him and thank heaves there's an endless choice today of glorious fragrances for men, like DUNHILL ICON RACING; here's why it's high on my list of "you gotta try it, or buy it!"

DUNHILL ICON RACING opens with a juicy burst of exhilarating Bergamot and Grapefruit with Cardamom accents, mid notes of Pepper & Lavender, and balanced with warm base notes of Sandalwood, Vetiver and Guaiac wood. Woody notes are what I lean towards when choosing mens fragrances as they are sensual and intoxicating and the combination of these three base notes are heavenly indeed!

DUNHILL ICON RACING bottle incorporates the British Racing Green colour, a nod to British heritage of car racing, with the stripes giving a sporty feel and symbolizing speed. The bottle is designed by Mark Eisen who says, “My dream is to create a bottle of timeless style - a perfect mix of history and modernity and taste.” It's a beautiful functional and decorative bottle incorporating the "diamond point' pattern and motif that runs throughout the ICON series; the fragrance has just won New Male Design & Packaging Fragrance Foundation Award 2018 - not too shabby!
