REVIEW & GIVEAWAY: Dermalogica Sound Sleep Cocoon

Dermalogica Sound Sleep Cocoon

Most nights I climb into bed and am out like a light, yet sometimes, despite being exhausted, my mind wanders as I turn out the light and I'm on a to-do list rollercoaster and suddenly it's past midnight and in panic mode of counting the hours before my alarm goes off . Apparently I’m not alone in suffering sleep deprivation; statistically 45% of the world's population experience sleep problems, which affects our health and wellbeing. After attending the Dermalogica Sound Sleep Cocoon launch a few weeks back where we were given the load down on key ingredients to help you fall asleep and work on your skin's regeneration process, I couldn't wait to try Dermalogica Sound Sleep Cocoon out for myself; here's what I thought:

Dermalogica Sound Sleep Cocoon

“While the skin is in repair mode and blood flow increases at night, it's the optimal time for the absorption of active ingredients to target signs of skin fatigue,” explains education manager for the International Dermal Institute and Dermalogica, Emma Hobson.

Formulated to work at night, Sound Sleep Cocoon works with the body’s natural circadian rhythms, (the distinct periods of biological activity occurring while we are awake or asleep, also known as the sleep/wake cycle). If you're caught up on sleep, you won't feel the dips so radically between the swings of sleepiness and alertness. Better quality sleep means your skin is able to regenerate and restore itself from harmful free radicals and environmental damage way more efficiently.

Dermalogica Sound Sleep Cocoon helps this process by sending you into a deep, relaxing sleep allowing your body to repair, restore, and regenerate skin cells from the free radical damage. You have these key ingredients to be thankful for:

Lavandin Oil has been encapsulated with motion-activated biodegradable microcapsules which release on your skin as you toss and turn to aid sleeping thanks to calming essential oils, working on replenishing your skin at the same time.

Nicknamed the ‘night sleeper’ due to the tree leaves opening during the day and closing at night,

Persian Silk Tree Extract fights free radicals, reduces signs of fatigue, while brightening and plumping tired skin. It also helps to fight Advanced Glycation End-products (AGEs), which contribute to wrinkles, loss of elasticity and collagen.

Widely used in traditional Chinese medicine, Wu-Zhu-Yu helps even skin texture and visibly brightens dull tired skin.

Kakadu Plum Extract contains Vitamin C, a potent antioxidant to help with skin damage, premature ageing, improving skin tone and luminosity.

Tamarind Seed Extract has a chemical structure similar to hyaluronic acid, to reduce water loss while promoting the skin’s natural hydration process.

So, a night gel-cream packed with goodness and soothing lavender scent to help you sleep, after massaging cream in to release motion-activated essential scents. The packaging is something I'm really loving as it's super hygienic where all you have to do is twist, press down with a perfect amount of product being dispensed. I tend to be heavy-handed when it comes to using products so am hoping this lasts me realistically six weeks. I keep the cream next to my bed so that after I have done my beauty routine I can pop it on before turning out the light!

So now for the exciting part; if this product appeals to you, it may just be your lucky day as I have one DERMALOGICA SOUND SLEEP COCOON worth R1295 to GIVEAWAY! All you have to do is answer the question below:
