PINTUCK RESORT swim & active wear are locally made using superior fabric with signature designed prints; I caught up with Jo Springthorpe, founder and co-owner:
'Pintuck Resort's simple concept is to create gorgeous original prints, then pair them with a select range of swimsuit designs, that experience has taught us are the most flattering to all women's bodies. Then allow the women, themselves to play. With our help, our customers can pair the pattern she loves with the suit that suits her!"
Where does your name PINTUCK RESORT derive from
PINTUCK RESORT came from a brand I had done before which included dresses and kaftans sourced from India where their signature technique included a lot of 'pintucks'. I just loved the name and it stuck! When it came to moving into swimwear, we decided to carry on with the name Pintuck and added the word Resort.
Where did your inspiration for swimwear come in?
I couldn’t find any swimwear for myself that wasn’t either young surf brands or boring “old ladies cozzies”, so while on holiday sipping sundowners with my partner Beryl who has been in swimwear for many years, we decided to make our own instead!
What makes PINTUCK RESORT unique?
It's unique because of our prints; I think we have a very specific handwriting , retro based with a play on graphics and colour .
Secondly, we make a lot of prints over our tried and tested styles so there is a lot of variety to choose from where you can create your own bespoke online or choose your own style and print you love. What can we expect this season?
We are excited about our new season as it's an entire new lot of prints introducing new styles; so far the range has been very well received.
We have also grown our brand to include Petite and Tween ages so are fulfilling our #foreverybody idea.
You've just returned form Kamersvol in Jozie, how did it go?
It was such fun and a great market to launch our new SS20 range.
We do regular Pop Up Shops and open days throughout the season at our studio in Newlands, which we post on social media and via our newsletter, so customers can sign up for updates .

Now with Petite and Tweens they run from ages 1 - 12 and our adults go from size 6-16
