Two days ago CHANEL transformed the Grand Palais, Paris into a perfect beach setting of sea and sand under an azure sky for their Spring/Summer2019 Ready-To-Wear Collection. Designer Karl Lagerfeld invites us to "live out the summer months from morning to night, in complete freedom and sophistication".
CHANEL fashion shows are always so spectacular, take a peek at their latest Collection.

Models sauntered along beach sand wearing pastel shades of pinks, blues, iced mint, mother of pearl, sunshiny yellow and golden tans and beiges, sprinklings of tweed, embroidery of seashells and sand.

This season's look is a sophisticated elegance, with fabrics ranging between chiffon, tweed, crepe, denim, leather and lace to poplin.

Bigger volume jackets with wide shoulders and flared sleeves, extra wide legged jumpsuits contrast with short jackets worn over tweed dresses.

Jeans are worn with cardigans, some belted, swimwear with an asymmetrical shoulder and men's jackets paired with leggings, or cycling shorts.

'Beach hut stripes' appear over maxi chiffon dresses and lace ruffles and embroidery is done with golden sequins reflecting trails of seas and over delicate tweed white suits or on navy crepe georgette dresses.

Oversize tunics with a scooped neckline are open at the back. In mint or beige tweed, in crushed golden sand silk, they open to reveal a matching pair of shorts.

The waterproof coat for summer showers is reinvented as flared in plasticised lace.

One can feel designer Karl Lagerfeld's sense of fun with his cabin dresses, or 'beach hut dresses' that come in lace ruffles and a multi-colour lightweight plumetis fabric plus pink tweed, reappearing in evening wear, adorned with chiffon origami type ribbons. A kaleidoscope of colourful dresses, all gorgeously feminine.

CHANEL is split into two distinct syllables when it came to the accessories. Double visor caps and wide-brimmed fringed straw hats, along with layers of chains, pendants and beaded necklaces, while the XXL cuff bracelets is very prominent.

Bags made from tweed and braid with parasol embroidery and the BOY CHANEL is back as a saddlebag in tweed and leather patchwork, while flap bags come in terrycloth sporting an XL bead handle. Multicolour net bags, as well as large beach bags in denim and straw with leather and wicker camera cases, complete the collection.

The show was applauded by the CHANEL ambassadors Vanessa Paradis, Pharrell Williams, Caroline de Maigret, Soo Joo Park, Nana Komatsu, Alessandra Mastronardi, Gwei Lun Mei and Jennie Kim, the singers Jorja Smith, Ibeyi and Clara Luciani, as well as the actresses Mia Goth, Sylvia Hoeks, Sandra Ma and Jelly Lin.
I hope you enjoyed the collection of CHANEL images - it sure put a little sunshiny smile on my face!!
Happy Wednesday!
